In a landmark event for the travel and tourism sector, Zimbabwe has unveiled its rich natural beauty and vibrant cultural heritage to a select group of Indian travel agents during an educational tour organized in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).

The event, held from September 7 to 16, 2024, offered an immersive experience designed to showcase Zimbabwe as a premier travel destination ahead of the 17th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo.This annual tourism showcase serves as a global platform to promote Zimbabwe’s vast tourism offerings, inviting international buyers to explore the country’s diverse attractions.

As part of Zimbabwe’s strategic efforts to position itself as a top destination for Indian travelers, this year’s educational tour featured meticulously curated itineraries that provided a firsthand experience of the country’s most sought-after destinations.

Exploring Zimbabwe’s Diverse Tourism OfferingsThe tour was a rich tapestry of Zimbabwe’s natural wonders and cultural experiences. Participants explored iconic destinations, such as the Eastern Highlands, Lake Kariba, Great Zimbabwe, and the mighty Victoria Falls.

Stella Nkomo, Zimbabwe’s ambassador to India, emphasized the importance of fostering strong relationships between the two nations in the tourism sector. She expressed her excitement about the recent visit, stating, “We are thrilled to have hosted the Indian travel trade in Zimbabwe.

With Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, alongside Namibia and South Africa, set to co-host the 2027 Cricket World Cup, we look forward to welcoming Indian travelers to experience our country’s diverse wonders beyond the cricket pitch.

”Pranav Kapadia, the founder and director of Global Destinations, who attended the tour, expressed similar sentiments, stating, “Attending Sanganai/Hlanganani, at the invitation of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, was an exceptional opportunity to showcase Zimbabwe’s remarkable beauty and strengthen the ties between our two nations’ travel industries.”
